Perfection

People always think they have found perfection
The perfect song
The perfect moment
The perfect perfume
The perfect dress
The perfect school
The perfect color to paint your nails
The perfect everything
But how wrong could we all be

Perfections as we call them come and go daily
Without warning or just change without reason

The perfect summer
Once shared with the perfect friends
Slowly comes to a crashing end
The time is full of blemishes and flaws
Once covered by the perfect concealer
Now faces the world exposed

It has become clear to me
There is no room for mistakes
Just room for perfection.
Pure perfection.
Only room for improvement
But no room to look back.
No room to reminisce.

There is no time to walk down memory lane
A grab at the dreams that were once a reality.
They are the past.
There is no time to hold on to someone who has let go.
There is no strength to keep a relationship a float that has already sunk.

All imperfections must be left behind.
