Pride Aside

There are times you have to put your pride aside
There are times you must admit you lied
There are times I cried
And you wiped away my tears
You listened to all my fears
You were there for years
There are things only you know
There are emotion to you I always show
You know me like no other
I miss you and its crazy to believe
My emotion so long I fought to deceive

There are times you have to put your pride aside
There are times you keep your true feelings on the low
My anger is all I let show
To cover my hurt
To cover the pain
So that I would not have to use your name
With every picture and every memory
I shed a silent tear
That I blame on the cold
So no one will know that I cry
From realizing there is no more me and you...
After realizing all of this I ask myself
And I ask you
What am I to do?

There are times you have to put your pride aside
There are times I have lied
Lied so that I wouldn't have to face it all
Lied to avoid what was right there
Lied in order for it all to be easier
Lied in order to save my pride

Now I put my pride aside
